Andhra Pradesh to Become Hub for Aerospace and Defence Innovation

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has underscored plans to transform the state into a leading hub for aerospace and defence innovation. On Monday, he reviewed the Aerospace and Defence Policy 4.0, aimed at attracting investments up to Rs 1 lakh crore and enhancing national security.
During the policy review at the Secretariat, Naidu highlighted the crucial role of technology in defence, especially following the recent Operation Sindoor. He emphasized the importance of developing advanced technologies not only for defence but also for improving daily life quality.
Naidu proposed several amendments, including supporting MSMEs through a Rs 100-crore annual corpus fund and providing logistics subsidies. The policy outlines specialized manufacturing corridors across Andhra Pradesh and envisions Tirupati as a research hub with a proposed DRDO Centre of Excellence.
