Cyient Semiconductors Partners with GlobalFoundries to Revolutionize Chip Manufacturing

Cyient Semiconductors has announced a strategic partnership with GlobalFoundries to become an authorized reseller of its semiconductor manufacturing services. This collaboration aims to accelerate innovation across various sectors by offering a range of value-added services. The partnership positions Cyient to leverage GF's world-class foundry capabilities.

Hyderabad-based Cyient Semiconductors has entered into a strategic channel partner agreement with U.S.-based GlobalFoundries (GF), a leading chip manufacturer. The collaboration enables Cyient to offer semiconductor manufacturing services as an authorized reseller of GF's technologies, which cater to high-profile clients like Apple, Intel, and Qualcomm.

The partnership is designed to fast-track innovation and shorten the time-to-market for companies by providing them with critical services such as fabrication access, technical consultation, and design enablement. It strategically positions Cyient to better serve the needs of fabless companies by combining GF's advanced technologies with its own ASIC turnkey solutions.

According to Cyient Semiconductors CEO Suman Narayan, the partnership will act as a catalyst for innovation within automotive, industrial, medical, and communication sectors. While GF operates fabrication units across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, it does not have a manufacturing presence in India, a gap that Cyient seeks to fill through this strategic alliance.
