BEML Ltd and Korean Giants Unite for Next-Gen Maritime Cranes
BEML Ltd has partnered with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering and HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries to develop next-generation maritime and port cranes in India. This strategic MoU supports India's Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, boosting indigenous capabilities and aiming for global maritime leadership.
BEML Ltd, a public sector undertaking, has announced a significant partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co. Ltd and HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries. This alliance aims to innovate the maritime and port crane industry in India.
The collaboration will leverage the combined expertise of these engineering leaders to design, develop, and manufacture a new generation of cranes. These include both conventional and autonomous models, further supported by extensive after-sales service, spare parts, and training programs.
This initiative is closely linked to India's Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047, which focuses on expanding port capacity and establishing India as a top maritime power. It is expected to reduce import reliance and generate substantial high-value job opportunities in the private sector.
