An influential Israeli defence firm has announced its plans to supply the first batch of 40,000 light machine guns (LMGs) to India, beginning early next year.
The CEO of Israel Weapon Industries (IWI), Shuki Schwartz, disclosed the firm's involvement in multiple defence programmes, highlighting a collaboration with India's Ministry of Home Affairs.
Alongside partnerships with local companies like Bharat Forge and PLR Systems, IWI aims to integrate advanced technology and boost local production under the 'Make in India' initiative.
