Union Power and Housing Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has underscored the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI) in India's development leading up to 2047. Speaking at the India International Science Festival, he hailed AI as an engine for innovation, start-ups, and skill development, while cautioning against its misuse.
Khattar illustrated AI's potential in domains such as problem-solving, data analysis, genetics, energy management, and housing technologies. He stressed that emerging technologies could pave the way for new jobs and enhanced economic productivity. The minister also extolled the value of curiosity and experimentation, citing the inspiring journeys of historical and grassroots innovators.
The festival also highlighted India's space achievements, with ISRO Chairman V Narayanan discussing advances in AI systems and satellite technology. A special film delving into India's 63-year space exploration saga was showcased, celebrating past successes and future missions.
