The Goa government is setting an ambitious roadmap to integrate the state with rapidly evolving technologies and knowledge industries, focusing on generating employment, developing skills, and fostering innovation for the youth. State Minister Rohan Khaunte announced these initiatives, highlighting new opportunities in the IT sector.

Responding to a Calling Attention Motion by Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco, Information Technology Minister Khaunte outlined strategic steps to position Goa in artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and advanced IT infrastructure. The Goa AI Mission 2027 seeks to establish a future-ready digital economy, integrating modern IT infrastructure for firms, startups, and AI enterprises.

Key initiatives include the creation of an AI Advisory Council, a dedicated company to propel the ecosystem, and the formulation of a Goa AI Mission Policy. Over 700 startups have received support, with 33% led by women, reflecting a strong push towards inclusivity. Planned facilities like electronic manufacturing clusters are expected to drive significant employment, particularly for youth, by 2027.
