Germany's council of ‌tax experts has cut its estimate for ‌the country's tax revenues for the 2026-2030 period by 87.5 ‌billion euros ($103 billion) compared with ‌its previous forecast, updated projections released on Thursday showed, tightening the government's ability to fund higher defence and infrastructure spending.

The panel now sees federal tax income in 2027 down by 10.1 billion euros from its previous forecast, making it harder to close the budget gap in next year's draft financial plan.
