Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, clarified on Thursday that the company's lease agreement with Anthropic for its Colossus AI training data center clusters is only for six months, countering earlier suggestions that the lease might extend for several years.

Musk specified that the lease includes a 180-day term with a mutual 90-day cancellation notice, emphasizing that the shorter term was SpaceX's decision. He reassured that SpaceX would not abruptly cut off Anthropic, preparing a 'reasonable off-ramp' if needed.

Musk also noted that if computational resources become scarce, SpaceX might need to reclaim the data center capacity at the end of the lease. This announcement has sparked speculation regarding the long-term plans of both companies.
