Instagram is rolling out a new tool to help users fight misinformation on the platform, similar to parent company Facebook.

According to Mashable, Instagram will allow users to report posts that contain false information. These reported posts may be sent to Instagram's fact-checkers which may lead to the post being hidden from the Explore and hashtag pages.

Instagram will alert users if a post by an account they follow is reported as false and debunked by fact-checkers. The company will use a combination of factors to determine whether a reported post is passed on to third-party fact-checkers. (ANI)
