Oppo Reno 2 launched at Rs 36,990; Reno 2Z at Rs 29,990 in India

The Oppo Reno 2 series was officially launched at an event in New Delhi, India today. Setting off the launch, Mr. Sumit Walia, Vice president, Product and Marketing, Oppo India highlighted the so-far achievements of the company in India. Reiterating Oppo's consumer-first and the Make In India commitment, Walia told the Oppo India produces 50 million smartphones annually at its Greater Noida manufacturing facility and seeks to double its production to 100 million smartphones by the end of next year.

Moving further, Jithin Abraham, Product Manager, Oppo India shared the detailed specifications of India-first Reno 2 series that comes with superior design and enhanced performance and exceptional camera features. Under the series, Oppo launched three smartphones, namely: Oppo Reno 2, Oppo Reno 2Z and the Oppo Reno 2F. Alongside these three models, Oppo also launched Enco Q1 wireless noise cancellation headset with extra-long playtime at Rs, 7, 990.

Oppo Reno 2

Display

The Oppo Reno 2 boasts a 6.5-inch (16.51cm) AMOLED Panoramic Screen with a 2400×1080-pixel resolution, 93.1 percent screen-to-body ratio and TUV Rheinland certification for eye protection.

Camera

On the imaging front, the Oppo Reno 2 houses the world's first 16-megapixel Shark-fin Rising selfie camera with video bokeh effect that slides in and out of action in just 0.8s. On the back, it features a Quad camera setup with 5x Hybrid Zoom and up to 20x Digital Zoom that includes a 48-megapixel Ultra-clear primary camera powered by SONY IMX586 sensor, an 8-megapixel Wide-Angle lens 116-degrees FOV, a 13-megapixel Telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and Auto Focus and a 2-megapixel Mono lens with Portrait Mode 2.0.

Additional camera features include Ultra Dark Mode for low-light shooting, Ultra Macro Mode for close-range shots, Portrait Mode 2.0 for blurring the background, HDR Mode, Ultra Steady Mode for stable and clear video.

OS and Processor

The Oppo Reno 2 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset for exceptional gaming and graphics experience, coupled with Adreno 618 GPU and 8G of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The phone will run on Android v9.0 based on Color OS 6.1 operating system.

Battery and other features

The Oppo Reno 2 will pack a 4,000mAh battery with Type-C charging and VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 technology for fast charging performance while avoiding overheating issue. Additional features include Hidden Fingerprint 3.0 for fast screen unlocking experience, Game Boost 3.0 technology, Frame Boost 2.0 and Touch Boost 2.0 for immersive gaming experience and Link Boost to automatically identify Wi-Fi and an in-screen fingerprint sensor.

The Oppo Reno 2 will be available in Ocean Blue and Luminous Black color options. The phone will be available at Flipkart, Amazon and other partner retail outlets, starting from 20 September at Rs 36,990.

Oppo Reno 2Z

The Oppo Reno 2Z features a 6.53-inch (16.58 cm) AMOLED Panoramic Screen with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution, 91.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio P90 octa-core processor coupled with 8GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage and will run on Android v9.0 based on Color OS 6.1 operating system.

It houses a 16-megapixel Rising Camera with video bokeh effect and rear Quad Camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary camera powered by SONY IMX586 sensor, an 8-megapixel Wide Angle lens with 119-degrees FOV, a 2-megapixel Mono Lens with Portrait Mode 2.0 and again a 2-megapixel Mono Lens with Portrait Mode 2.0. Additional camera features include Ultra Dark Mode, Bokeh Effect Video and Ultra Steady Video.

The Oppo Reno 2Z packs a Type-C compatible 4000mAh Battery with VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 technology. The phone will be available in Sky White and Luminous Black color options on Flipkart, Amazon and across all partner outlets starting from 6 September at Rs 29,990. The phone is open for pre-booking, starting today.

The Oppo Reno 2F boasts a 6.53-inch (16.58 cm) AMOLED Panoramic Screen with a 91.6 percent screen-to-body ratio, powered by MediaTek Helio P70 processor coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The phone is equipped with rear Quad Camera setup with Ultra Dark Mode 2.0 that includes a 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel Wide Angle Lens with 119-degree FOV, a 2-megapixel Mono Lens with Portrait Mode 2.0 and again a 2-megapixel Mono Lens with Portrait Mode 2.0. On the front, the phone houses a 16-megapixel Rising Camera for breathtaking selfies.

The Oppo Reno 2F is equipped with a Type-C compatible 4000mAh Battery with VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 technology. The phone will go on sale in November.
