China looks to work with Comoros on a three-year health project
The Minister of Health has tested to the recognition of the Comorian people for the perfect collaboration of the two countries in order to meet the challenge of "Zero Palu 2020" desired by the Union of Comoros.
A Chinese mission led by the imminent Professor Jianping Song of the Guangzhou Medical University is staying in Comoros. Last Thursday, the professor was received by the Minister of Health Dr. RASHID MOHAMED MBARAK Fatma, in the presence of Deng Chang Sheng, assistant director of the Institute of Science and Technology of Guangzhou University and Dr. Anfane Anfane Bacar, Coordinator of the National Malaria Control Program.
According to the delegation, the Chinese Government wishes to work more with the Comorian side on a three-year project. The project would include equipment and materials for the National Malaria Laboratory. For their part, the Minister of Health has tested to the recognition of the Comorian people for the perfect collaboration of the two countries in order to meet the challenge of "Zero Palu 2020" desired by the Union of Comoros.
"Our country has had some positive results, but the fight is not over," says Dr. RASHID Fatma. Professor Jianping Song worked for a long time in Comoros in the mass treatment project, almost ten years ago, from Mohéli to Anjouan.
His visit to Moroni also responds to the Ministry of Health's request to launch a second mass treatment campaign very soon, especially in Ngazidja. The island still has efforts to provide to break the chain of transmission. "If the disease is on an island then the whole archipelago is in danger," said the Minister, who praised the good collaboration on the issue between the Ngazidja Health Commissioner and his Ministry.
