Google Doodle celebrates Singapore National Day 2018

This holiday includes a National Day parade and a speech by the Singapore Prime Minister.

Every year on August 9, the Singapore National Day is celebrated, remembering the independence of Singapore from Malaysia in 1965. This year's celebrations will be more interesting than ever as Singapore celebrates the 50th anniversary of its air service with an aerial performance of 21 Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) jets.

This holiday includes a National Day parade and a speech by the Singapore Prime Minister. This year's theme song, "We Are Singapore," is based on a speech delivered in 1966 by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.

National Day celebrations also include fireworks celebrations. They feature several local and foreign teams that fire fireworks on different nights.

Organized for the first time in 2004 in Marina Bay, the event was initially known as the Singapore Fireworks Festival and organized by Unusual Productions.

Prime Minister also shared a message, inviting for the celebration of National Day,

The amount of fireworks used has increased in magnitude over the last three years from 4,000 cartridges used in 2004 to more than 9,000 in 2006. In 2012, a Mentos ad encouraged procreation at the same time as fireworks.
