South Korean band BTS surpasses 9 billion retransmissions in Spotify

The South Korean band BTS also known as Bangtan Boys has created a news record showing their global dominance on Spotify with surpassing 9 billion retransmissions.
It is a new record that demonstrates the great popularity of the group on the platform and the loyalty of its fans.
The group has released its new album “Map of the Soul: 7” on February 21 which has become the first album by an Asian group to take top spots on all the charts of the world’s five largest music markets, the United States, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France. In addition, it has topped music charts in many other countries around the world.
Also, the debut mixtape "Hope World" of South Korean rapper J-Hope who is also a member of the BTS group has crosses 200 million streams in Spotify.

BTS is a seven-member South Korean boy band formed in Seoul in 2010. It is originally a hip hop group whose musical style has evolved to include a wide range of genres. Their lyrics basically are focused on personal and social commentary, touch on the themes of mental health, troubles of school-age youth, loss, the journey towards loving oneself, and individualism.
