Kirana: Prices of select spices depicted a weak trend in the local wholesale market during the week on stockists' selling against slackened demand at prevailing higher levels.

Sentiment turned weak on adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing belts.

Black pepper prices declined by Rs 10 to conclude at Rs 410-570 per kg.

Cardamom brown-Jhundiwali and Kanchicut prices fell by up to Rs 40 to conclude at Rs 550-570 and Rs 600-880 per kg, respectively.

Coriander prices dropped by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 5,800-12,000 per quintal.

Kalaunji declined by Rs 200 conclude at Rs 9,300-9,700 per quintal.

Mace-red and yellow prices traded lower at Rs 1,150-1,730 and Rs 1,400-1,450 as compared with the last levels of Rs 1,200-1,800 and Rs 1,500-1,550 per kg.

Nutmeg prices dropped by Rs 50 to settled at Rs 700-730 per kg.

Poppyseed (Turkey and China) prices eased by Rs 10 each to settle at Rs 450 and Rs 430 per kg, respectively.

Red chili and turmeric prices declined up to Rs 500 to conclude at Rs 5,500-13,500 and Rs 8,000-10,700 per quintal, respectively.

Jeera common and jeera best quality also drifted lower by Rs 200 each to end at Rs 18,800-19,800 and Rs 22,300-22,800 per quintal, respectively.

However, betel-nut and cloves prices increased up to Rs 30 to finish at Rs 270-300 and Rs 560-620 per kg, respectively.
