3 panchaloha idols retrieved from temple tank

Three panchaloha idols were retrieved from the tank of the famous Patteeswarar Temple here on Monday, police said.

A few people on their morning walk noticed the idols lying in the tank and informed the temple authorities, the police said.

The idols of different forms of Lord Vishnu, each measuring two to three feet tall, were taken to a police station.

Investigations were on to find out whether the idols belonged to the temple or were thrown into the tank by miscreants after stealing them from another temple only to take them away later, they said.
