Sugar eases on sluggish demand

Prices of both varieties of sugar eased at the Vashi wholesale market here Tuesday following sluggish demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Small sugar (S-30) prices slipped by Rs 12/12 per quintal to Rs 3,100/3,190 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,112/3,202.

Medium sugar (M-30) slid by Rs 20/24 per quintal to Rs 3,196/3,422 as against Rs 3,216/3,446.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in the brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,100/3,190 (Rs 3,112/3,202).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,196/3,422 (Rs 3,216/3,446).
