Amazon India expands regional language offering ahead of festive season
According to the company, in 2021, more than 5 million customers shopped on Amazon.in in regional languages. Customers can discover great deals and discounts, place, pay and track their orders, manage their account information, and view order history in their preferred language during the upcoming festive season.

Amazon India on Monday announced the expansion of its regional language offering to make e-commerce more accessible and convenient for Indian customers. With the addition of Marathi and Bengali on Amazon.in, customers can now shop in eight languages including Hindi, English, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.
According to the company, in 2021, more than 5 million customers shopped on Amazon.in in regional languages. Customers can discover great deals and discounts, place, pay and track their orders, manage their account information, and view order history in their preferred language during the upcoming festive season.
In the coming weeks, Amazon will also launch the voice shopping experience in Hindi, allowing customers to use their voice in Hindi to search for products or check their order status. The voice offering will be available only for Android devices and customers will need to update their Amazon app via Google Play Store.
The voice shopping experience was launched in 2020 in English, which the company says, has grown by 2X YoY.
Our aim with regional language shopping experience is to make ecommerce accessible, relevant and convenient for customers. Every month, tens of millions of customers visit Amazon.in in regional languages and 90% of the customers are from tier 2 and below cities. This festive season we are happy to expand the Amazon.in experience for our customers in Marathi and Bengali.
Meanwhile, Amazon India has started teasing its annual Great Indian Festival Sale as "coming soon". The e-commerce platform will be offering a 10% instant discount on HDFC Bank debit/credit cards and EMI transactions, a no-cost EMI on Bajaj Finserve debit/credit card, up to Rs 25,000 discount on exchange and more.
Ahead of the festive season, the company has also expanded its fulfilment network to cater to the growing customer demand.
