Two persons were killed and over half-a-dozen injured when the bus in which they were travelling rammed into a truck from behind near Saharbeda, around 30km from here, in Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharswan district on Friday, police said.

The bus carrying 40 passengers was on its way to Jamshedpur from Nawada in Bihar when the accident occurred on NH-33 on Ranchi-Jamshedpur road.

The dead included an 80-year-old woman, Chandil police station officer-in-charge Ajit Kumar said.

The driver possibly fell asleep around 4am when the accident happened, the officer said.

A police team went to the spot and rushed the injured to MGM Hospital here.

Police have made arrangement to send the other passengers to their destination.
