State-owned MOIL has recorded a 7% rise in manganese ore production, totaling 3.05 lakh tonne (LT) during April-May 2024.

Compared to the same period last year, which saw a production of 2.84 LT, MOIL has shown considerable growth. Additionally, cumulative sales increased by 32%, reaching 3.3 LT from 2.5 LT during the previous year.

The company also ramped up its exploratory core drilling activities, achieving 18,609 meters, a 26% increase from last year’s 14,770 meters. MOIL, operating under the Ministry of Steel, fulfills approximately 46% of the country’s dioxide ore requirements, with an average annual manganese ore production of around 1.3 million tonne.
