Kolkata Metro Unveils High-Tech Chinese Rakes

Kolkata Metro has introduced new rakes from China, featuring CCTV coverage, wheelchair parking, and wider doors. Two new rakes have arrived, one already in use, while eleven more are expected. These rakes offer improved safety features and greater passenger comfort.

Kolkata Metro has elevated the commuting experience with new rakes sourced from China, which boast advanced features aimed at enhancing traveler safety and convenience, an official confirmed.

Two of these cutting-edge Dalian rakes have recently arrived at the Noapara shed, joining one currently in operation as of May 26.

'The rakes offer features such as CCTV coverage, wheelchair parking, wider evacuation doors, and enhanced seating capacity,' a Kolkata Metro spokesperson elaborated, adding that more rakes will soon undergo mandatory inspection.
