An Air India Express flight en route from Dubai to Calicut faced an unexpected diversion early Saturday morning due to adverse weather conditions in Kozhikode, according to airline sources.

The flight, carrying 173 passengers, safely touched down at Cochin International Airport at 2.47 am.

After a nearly seven-hour delay, the aircraft departed from Kochi to Calicut airport at around 9.30 am, the sources confirmed.
