A bomb threat scare led to the grounding of an Air Arabia flight scheduled to depart for Sharjah from Calicut International Airport on Saturday morning, following the discovery of a suspicious note.

Airport sources said that the alarm was raised when ground staff found a note reading 'bomb' on one of the seats shortly before boarding was set to begin. The note is believed to have been left by a passenger who had arrived on the aircraft from Sharjah.

Subsequently, the bomb detection squad was called in and conducted a thorough inspection of the plane, leading to a delay in departure. Airport officials later confirmed that the threat was a hoax. The flight, initially set to leave at 8:30 AM, has been rescheduled to 5 PM. Passengers are being provided with food and water, and police are actively investigating the incident to identify the perpetrator.
