Empowering Rural Youth: Skilling for a Brighter Future

Union Minister Kamlesh Paswan announced initiatives by the rural development ministry to provide skill training and create job opportunities for rural youths. The aim is to ensure inclusive and sustainable development through effective implementation of schemes like Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin.

The rural development ministry is actively working to provide skill training and create employment opportunities for youths in villages, as stated by Union Minister Kamlesh Paswan on Thursday. During a meeting of the Performance Review Committee (PRC), Paswan emphasized that the ministry aims to ensure the proper and effective implementation of various schemes and programmes.

Paswan highlighted the disparity between opportunities for urban and rural youths, noting that many in rural areas cannot even complete their studies. He stressed the need to connect these youths to employment through skill training, particularly under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana. He proposed organizing meetings with companies and recruiters to provide better placement opportunities for trained youth.

The minister underlined the ministry's objective of achieving inclusive and sustainable development in rural areas through multi-dimensional policies. He believes that creating new opportunities and strengthening existing infrastructure will not only increase livelihood opportunities but also turn rural youth into job providers. He also mentioned the success of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, which has nearly met its target of 2.95 crore houses.
