New Delhi, Delhi, India (NewsVoir) SATYA MicroCapital Ltd. recently organized the fourth edition of the Vijayalakshmi Das Awards to honor women micro-entrepreneurs across India’s rural landscape. Held at Roseate House, Aerocity, New Delhi, the event recognized the remarkable transformations led by dynamic women who are setting new benchmarks.

The event featured the presence of esteemed members of the Board of Directors of SATYA MicroCapital Ltd., SATYA Micro Housing Finance, and SATYA Shakti Foundation, including Taejun Shin, Navin Surya, CP Mohan, Surekha Marandi, Dr. Deepali Pant Joshi, Sanjay Gandhi, Dr. Ratnesh Tiwari, Mahesh Shivlingappa Payannavar, Sohil Manoj Shah, and Praachi Tewari Gandhi. The awards pay homage to the late Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Das, a pioneering figure in Indian microfinance, who broke substantial societal stereotypes and inspired countless women.

Guests of honour included Pinki Kaushik Singh, 2023 World Bowls Champion and Arjuna Awardee, and Neharika Yadav, India’s first female bike racer and UNESCO Brand Ambassador. Vivek Tiwari, MD, CIO & CEO of SATYA MicroCapital, emphasized the importance of recognizing and empowering women entrepreneurs. He lauded their success stories as beacons for future generations and acknowledged the challenges they overcome to achieve their triumphs.

The event also included a panel discussion on 'Changing Face of Women Entrepreneurship in India,' moderated by Aditi Maheshwari and featuring prominent women entrepreneurs. Awards were presented in categories such as Manufacturing, Agri Production, Textile, Food, Hospitality, and Sustainability. Winners included Ruma Devi, Shailza Sood Das Gupta, Nilanjana Das, and others.

Additionally, SATYA launched the Vijayalakshmi Das Education Development Academy (VEDA). Dr. Ratnesh Tiwari introduced VEDA, aimed at providing quality education in rural areas through an online platform, ensuring equitable access to education for students in Tier 3 and Tier 4 cities.
