Nissan's Expansion Drive: Introducing Five New Models in India
Japanese automaker Nissan plans to launch five new car models in India over the next 30 months, including electric and mid-size SUVs. The company aims to triple its sales volume in both domestic and export markets by FY26 and expand its sales outlets to 300 by the end of the current fiscal year.
Japanese auto giant Nissan is gearing up to launch five new models in India within the next 30 months, marking a significant push in the fast-developing Indian automobile sector. The planned models include two mid-size SUVs, one electric SUV, and a refreshed version of its compact SUV, Magnite.
Unveiling the premium SUV X-Trail as a completely built-up (CBU) model, Nissan India President Frank Torres emphasized the company's strategic focus on the Indian market. “India is crucial for us, and we are preparing for a product offensive over the next two and a half years, from FY24 to FY26,” Torres said in an interaction with PTI.
Nissan aims to triple its sales volume in domestic and export markets by FY26, targeting annual volumes of 1 lakh units each. The company plans to end the current fiscal year with 300 sales outlets and expand its presence in both urban and rural areas. Additionally, Nissan views India as a hub for exporting models like Magnite to 40 countries, thereby significantly ramping up its global footprint.
