Odisha's Robust Economic Growth Amid Rural Transformation

Odisha's economy grew by 8.5% in the 2023-24 fiscal year, as per the latest Economic Survey. Despite being the 11th in per capita income among 17 major states, agriculture and industry sectors show significant contributions. The state has seen a decline in poverty rates and an increase in foodgrain production.

Odisha's economy saw an impressive growth rate of 8.5% during the 2023-24 financial year, according to the latest Economic Survey report.

In comparison, the state's economy had grown by 7.9% in the 2022-23 fiscal year. The state assembly was presented with the report on Wednesday, which estimated Odisha's economy to be valued at Rs 8.3 lakh crore, or approximately USD 100.6 billion, in the 2023-24 fiscal year.

Odisha ranks 11th among 17 major states in per capita income for the 2022-23 estimates. Notably, the state has seen growth in agriculture, industry, and services sectors, contributing to its economic upliftment. Efforts to diversify agricultural practices and boost industrial and service sectors are also highlighted.
