68 Railway Projects Underway in Uttar Pradesh

A total of 68 railway infrastructure projects, including new lines, gauge conversions, and doublings, are at various stages of planning, approval, and construction in Uttar Pradesh. These projects span 5,874 km and cost Rs 92,001 crore. The Railway Minister highlighted the ongoing efforts and the strategic importance of these developments.

68 railway infrastructure projects are currently at various stages of planning, approval, and construction in Uttar Pradesh, according to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The projects involve 16 new lines, three gauge conversions, and 49 doublings, covering a total of 5,874 km and costing Rs 92,001 crore. To date, 1,313 km have been commissioned, involving expenditures of Rs 28,366 crore.

The projects are aimed at improving connectivity in remote rural areas and are evaluated based on remunerativeness, last-mile connectivity, and socio-economic considerations, among other factors, Vaishnaw stated.
