West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic Howrah-Mumbai Mail derailment in Jharkhand, which claimed two lives and left 20 others injured.
Raj Bhavan, in a statement, shared the Governor's condolences for the bereaved families and his wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured in the unfortunate incident.
The derailment, which occurred at 3.45 AM near Barabamboo in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district, saw at least 18 coaches of the Howrah-Mumbai Mail derail, officials said. The site of the accident is approximately 80 km from Jamshedpur, under the Chakradharpur Division of the South Eastern Railway (SER).
