MPs Debate Railway Safety and Services in India

Members of Parliament in the Lok Sabha expressed concerns about railway safety and passenger welfare amidst increasing rail accidents. Several MPs voiced concerns on Wednesday over the increasing number of rail accidents and the overall state of railway services in India. Congress MP Harish Meena expressed frustration during the debate on the Demands for Grants for the Rail Ministry, criticizing the lack of focus on railway safety and passenger welfare.

BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy responded sharply, attributing responsibility for accidents in Rajasthan to Meena's tenure as DGP. Captain Viriato Fernandes criticized fare hikes and safety issues, while other MPs like Sanatan Pandey and Devesh Shakya highlighted regional disparities in railway development.

In contrast, MPs such as Ramprit Mandal and Anil Baluni praised government efforts to enhance railway infrastructure, noting significant expansions and improvements. Despite these praises, regional concerns persisted, with various MPs demanding more focused development in their constituencies.
