Himachal Pradesh Allocates Rs 327 Crore for E-Buses

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a provision of Rs 327 crore to procure 2,000 electric buses for the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC). The initiative aims to transform HRTC into a green transportation system, enhancing its current fleet and improving financial stability.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu revealed on Tuesday that the state has allocated Rs 327 crore to purchase 2,000 electric buses. This move is part of a broader plan to transform the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) into a green transportation system, supplementing the existing fleet of 110 e-buses and 50 e-taxis.

During a meeting with HRTC officials, the chief minister emphasized the crucial role HRTC plays with its 12,000 employees in providing reliable transport services across the hill state. He assured that the state government would offer all necessary support to revitalize HRTC financially.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri noted that HRTC continues to render dependable services despite the challenging terrains of Himachal Pradesh. He highlighted that employees and pensioners are now receiving their payments timely, a significant improvement from the previous administration's delays.
