Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal lauded Bharti Global's move to acquire a 24.5% stake in Britain's BT Group, calling it a full-circle moment. This strategic acquisition, valued at an estimated USD 25 billion, positions Bharti as the largest shareholder of the UK's leading communications provider.

"This acquisition is a testament to India's growing strength as we progress towards a developed nation under PM Modi's leadership," Goyal wrote on X. He also thanked UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Foreign Secretary David Lammy for their support in enhancing bilateral business relations.

Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman of Bharti Enterprises, highlighted that this substantial investment would not directly impact the company's telecom operations in India but offers potential for best practices sharing. With a strong market position and promising investment landscape, Bharti is ready for new ventures following its Africa acquisition.
