Amitabh Kant on India's Decade of Transformation
Amitabh Kant, former CEO of NITI Aayog and India's G20 Sherpa, highlighted India's progress over the last decade in digitization, infrastructure, and energy sectors. Despite the achievements, he acknowledged future challenges such as skill development, New Education Policy implementation, and sustainable urbanization.

Amitabh Kant, the former CEO of NITI Aayog and India's G20 Sherpa, has spotlighted the vast transformations India has experienced over the last decade, particularly in digitization, infrastructure development, and energy transformation.
In an exclusive interview with ANI, Kant explained, "The most significant change which India has seen is the drive for a great amount of digitization." He outlined how digitization has enabled Indians to make fast payments on mobile phones, access wealth creation schemes, and obtain credit within seconds. However, he also pointed out ongoing challenges, such as skill development, implementing the New Education Policy, and sustainable urbanization, while emphasizing the necessity for states to grow rapidly and boost manufacturing.
Kant highlighted India's infrastructure boom, noting the construction of homes, toilets, and water connections. He stated, "Close to 130 million toilets have been created, 255 million citizens are getting pipe water connections," citing these as transformative achievements. Additionally, he lauded India's commitment to green energy, discussing the 200 gigawatts of renewable energy projects, clean cooking fuel initiatives, and electric vehicle adoption. He also emphasized the need for ongoing transformation in skilling, education, manufacturing, and sustainable urbanization to ensure India's continued growth and development.
