Ashok Leyland's Confident Outlook Amid Fleet Operator Surge

The company expects a single-digit growth in the medium and heavy commercial vehicle (MHCV) segment this fiscal year, a positive trend compared to earlier flat growth estimates.

Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland has seen a surge in enquiries from fleet operators as the segment undergoes consolidation, according to company officials.

The medium and heavy commercial vehicle (MHCV) segment is projected to grow by a single digit this fiscal year, compared to previous flat growth estimates, said Sanjeev Kumar, President of MHCV at Ashok Leyland.

At a two-day 'Mini Expo' in Navi Mumbai, Ashok Leyland showcased its diverse range of trucks and buses. The event is part of an 11-city tour across India. Kumar highlighted the changing customer mix, indicating an advantage for fleet operators due to income and GST benefits. He noted that order sizes from fleet operators have grown.

Kumar also mentioned an 8% growth in Q1, signaling a positive outlook for the CV industry. The 'Mini Expo' aims to showcase Ashok Leyland's comprehensive transportation solutions and future mobility capabilities.
