Abu Dhabi Airports' Record-Breaking Passenger Traffic in 2024
Abu Dhabi Airports has seen a 33.5% growth in passenger traffic during the first half of 2024, reaching nearly 14 million passengers. Significant contributions came from Zayed International Airport, which handled over 13.7 million passengers. The airport's expansion includes new airlines, routes, and advanced facilities, aiming to enhance connectivity and passenger experience.
Abu Dhabi Airports reported a record-breaking surge in passenger traffic for the first half of 2024, boasting a 33.5% increase to nearly 14 million passengers compared to the same period last year.
Zayed International Airport, a key player in this growth, managed to handle over 13.7 million passengers, marking a 33.8% rise. Flight movements at Zayed Airport also increased by 24.3%, recording 84,286 movements in H1 2024.
The airport network's expansion continued with the addition of new airlines and routes, including flights from US Bangla to Chittagong and Dhaka, and British Airways' daily flights to London Heathrow. The newly renamed Zayed International Airport incorporates advanced facilities designed to enhance passenger experience and operational efficiency, establishing itself as a crucial hub for trade, tourism, and connectivity in the region.
