German pilots' union VC has extended an ongoing strike at Lufthansa's leisure airline Discover to six days, concluding just before midnight on September 1, according to a statement released Thursday.
The strike, part of a wage dispute, was initially announced last week. Earlier this year, the union, alongside larger rival Verdi, engaged in several bargaining rounds and strikes.
A spokesperson for Discover Airlines condemned the union's decision as "completely unacceptable," but noted the airline has successfully operated over three-quarters of its planned flights since the strike began on August 27.
