On Saturday, Vistara announced the dispatch of an alternative aircraft and fresh crew to transport passengers of its Mumbai-Frankfurt flight. This flight had been diverted to Erzurum Airport in Turkey on Friday due to an alleged bomb threat.
The substitute aircraft is expected to reach the Turkish airport by 12:25 local time and depart for Frankfurt with all passengers by 14:30, Vistara said in its updated statement on X (formerly Twitter).
Flight UK 27, operating from Mumbai to Frankfurt, departed from Mumbai at 1:01 pm on Friday but was redirected to Turkey after a note on board indicated a bomb threat. The airline confirmed that the 247 passengers and crew were safe following a smooth landing at Erzurum Airport at 19:05 local time.
Vistara noted that the crew had exceeded their duty time limitation, necessitating the dispatch of an alternate aircraft with a fresh set of crew. All necessary security checks were conducted. Meanwhile, passengers were provided refreshments and meals to minimize inconvenience.
