An empty gas cylinder was discovered on the railway tracks by the loco pilot of a goods train, prompting an emergency brake application near Prempur railway station early Sunday morning. This marks the second such occurrence in the state within the past month.

According to police reports, the incident took place at 8:10 am as the train journeyed from Kanpur to Allahabad. The five-liter cylinder, upon inspection, was found to be empty and was promptly removed from the tracks.

An official statement from the local police indicates that an investigation is underway. Notably, a similar attempt to derail the Kalindi Express by using an LPG cylinder was made on September 8, where the train struck the cylinder before grinding to a halt.
