Three passenger trains were cancelled on Monday following the derailment of a freight train in the Chakradharpur rail division of South Eastern Railway Zone, a railway spokesperson confirmed.
Despite no injuries being reported, the derailment has obstructed train operations, blocking key lines and affecting the movement of other trains.
South Eastern Railway stated that the Tatanagar-Hatia Express, Tatanagar-Barkakana passenger, and Barkakana-Tatanagar passenger trains were cancelled, while the Tatanagar-Dhanbad Express would leave Tatanagar at 7:30 pm instead of its scheduled 3:30 pm time. Additionally, the Santragachi-Anand Vihar Express has been diverted to run via Kharagpur-Midnapore-Adra-Purulia.
