Freight Train Derailment Causes Major Disruptions in South Eastern Railway Zone

A freight train derailment in the Chakradharpur rail division has led to the cancellation and rescheduling of several passenger trains. While no injuries have been reported, the incident has obstructed train operations, affecting several routes and causing significant disruptions for travelers.

Three passenger trains were cancelled on Monday following the derailment of a freight train in the Chakradharpur rail division of South Eastern Railway Zone, a railway spokesperson confirmed.

Despite no injuries being reported, the derailment has obstructed train operations, blocking key lines and affecting the movement of other trains.

South Eastern Railway stated that the Tatanagar-Hatia Express, Tatanagar-Barkakana passenger, and Barkakana-Tatanagar passenger trains were cancelled, while the Tatanagar-Dhanbad Express would leave Tatanagar at 7:30 pm instead of its scheduled 3:30 pm time. Additionally, the Santragachi-Anand Vihar Express has been diverted to run via Kharagpur-Midnapore-Adra-Purulia.
