Culver Max Entertainment, which was previously known as Sony Pictures Networks India, reported a significant decline in its financial performance for FY24. The company's consolidated net profit dropped by 19.43% to Rs 839.6 crore, data revealed by Tofler indicated.
Furthermore, the entertainment giant witnessed a 2.6% reduction in its revenue from operations, bringing the figure down to Rs 6,510.66 crore. This downturn was primarily due to a sharp 12% decrease in advertisement income, a critical revenue stream for the firm.
The fiscal year was further complicated by the dissolution of its anticipated merger with Zee Entertainment. The merger, valued at USD 10 billion, was ultimately called off, leading to a legal battle between the two companies. This strategic setback coincides with the company's recent rebranding to Culver Max Entertainment Pvt Ltd in April 2022.
