Adani Enterprises Ltd, the flagship company of the Gautam Adani-led conglomerate, saw its net profit skyrocket nearly eightfold in the September quarter. The impressive surge has been attributed to substantial earnings derived from its airports and burgeoning new energy sectors, effectively counterbalancing a downturn in the coal trading business.
In aviation, more than 100 flights from various Indian airlines reportedly received bomb threats on a single Tuesday, casting shadows over the nation's aviation security. Elsewhere in the market, while gold prices soared by Rs 300 to reach Rs 81,400 per 10 grams, sales during Dhanteras saw a 10% dip due to the steep annual price increase.
On the financial front, the Sensex marked a positive close with a 364-point rise, driven by late banking and oil share acquisitions. Concurrently, the rupee gained marginally against the US dollar, closing at 84.05, benefiting from a favorable trend in domestic equities and a decrease in global crude prices.
