Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow has announced a significant runway recarpeting project set between March 1 and July 15. The undertaking is expected to affect flight operations, with flights scheduled only before 10 am and after 6 pm during the recarpeting hours.

The recarpeting initiative, overseen by Adani Airport Holdings Limited, aims to enhance passenger safety and operational efficiency. Although forecasted to slightly decrease the daily flights from 140 to 132, efforts are in place to ensure seamless operations.

A part of the airport's upgrades includes the construction of a new 2,744-meter full-length parallel taxiway and an additional taxiway P9 to aid in smoother aircraft movements. This recarpeting addresses runway wear and tear accumulated since 2018's last maintenance.
