Nirani Sugars Pioneers Green Manufacturing in Karnataka

Nirani Sugars has inked a deal with Karnataka to develop a Polylactic Acid facility in Bagalkot, promising a Rs 2,000 crore investment. The project aims to create 600–800 jobs and position Karnataka as a leader in sustainable manufacturing, while addressing plastic waste and resource scarcity.

Nirani Sugars has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Karnataka government aimed at establishing an advanced Polylactic Acid manufacturing facility in Bagalkot. The initiative involves a significant investment of approximately Rs 2,000 crore, poised to materialize over the next three to five years, creating 600 to 800 direct jobs in the locale.

The state government is expected to assist Nirani Sugars in obtaining essential approvals and incentives, ensuring the project's smooth progression. This investment underscores Karnataka's potential to emerge as a leader in addressing plastic waste challenges, resource scarcity, and a rising demand for sustainable alternatives.

During the Karnataka Global Investors Meet, Nirani Sugars' Director Vishal Nirani emphasized that this project represents both an investment and a commitment to a sustainable future for Karnataka. By being a hub for biodegradable and renewable products, the state aims to contribute to India's green economy and enhance job opportunities for its residents.
