Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, has taken decisive action to accelerate the reconstruction of the Shivajinagar bus terminus in Pune. The directive came during a meeting at the state secretariat, Mantralaya, highlighting the project's significance in developing Pune's transportation network.

The terminus, which had been temporarily moved to Wakdewadi due to metro construction, will return to its original location. The reconstruction is crucial for the city’s infrastructure, underscoring the deputy CM’s insistence on quick submissions of project proposals and agreements.

The initiative is positioned under the Public-Private Partnership model, leveraging the floor space index to attract top-tier developers. Both Maha Metro and the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation have been tasked with ensuring collaboration, aiming for completion by Maharashtra Day, May 1. Additionally, plans for a modern bus terminus at Swargate are underway, further boosting Pune’s transport facilities.
