Union Minister of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, pledged full Minimum Support Price (MSP) support to farmers cultivating lentils, urad, and tur. Speaking at the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela in New Delhi, Chouhan emphasized the government's commitment to increasing MSP to ensure fair prices for agricultural produce.

Chouhan assured farmers that the government would procure entire stocks of wheat, paddy, lentil, urad, and tur at MSP. The minister also highlighted an increase in the Kisan Credit limit to Rs 5 lakh from the previous Rs 3 lakh, which aims to empower farmers financially, especially those engaged in the cultivation of vegetables, fruits, and horticulture.

During the event, the minister underscored the government's efforts to enable farmers to achieve fair pricing and encouraged integrated farming to maximize land profitability. He noted the role of initiatives like the Kisan Mela, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Viksit Bharat' through agricultural development. The event showcased the impact of using high-quality seeds prepared by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) on crop yields.
