Japan's knowledge, technology, and financial investments are set to be instrumental in aiding India's ambitious target to achieve developed nation status by 2047, according to Yagi Koji, the Consul General of Japan in Mumbai.
During the Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2025, Koji highlighted India's advancing economic reforms and noted that the state is increasingly becoming a more attractive destination for business, backed by new industrial policies, streamlined processes, and significant infrastructure development.
Japan has escalated its investments in India, marking a 284% increase over the past decade. This trend is set to continue as India remains the top destination for Japanese investment, particularly in manufacturing. Notably, Madhya Pradesh offers strategic advantages due to its location, resource-rich environment, and state-provided incentives.
