Assam aims for a USD 143 billion economy by 2030, as Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma calls on investors to engage in the state's upward economic trajectory. Addressing the 'Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit,' Sarma highlighted the state's transition from turmoil to tranquility.
He assured potential investors of a conducive environment for business, emphasizing a 15.2 percent GDP growth forecast for the year. With over 60 international delegates present, he advocated for industrial establishment in Assam to fuel this growth.
Once hampered by disrupted trade routes and unrest, Assam has experienced a revival since the BJP-led government, under PM Narendra Modi, took power in 2014. Sarma attributed this renaissance to Modi's competitive federalism strategy, encouraging states to attract investments through collaborative progress.
