A tragic accident unfolded early Monday morning in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district, claiming seven lives and leaving 14 injured in a collision between a truck and a sports utility vehicle (SUV), according to police reports.
The deadly incident occurred at approximately 2.30 am near Upni petrol pump on the Sidhi-Bahri Road, as confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Gayatri Tiwari. The SUV, functioning as a taxi service, was carrying family members towards Maihar when it collided with the truck, which was on its way to Bahri from Sidhi.
The collision led to the immediate death of seven occupants in the SUV, leaving 14 others injured. Of these, nine were transferred to a hospital in Rewa for further medical attention, while others received treatment at Sidhi district hospital. The truck driver has been detained as further investigations continue.
