In a spirited presentation at the Arunachal Pradesh assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein unveiled a bold budget of Rs 39,842 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26, focusing on the social and economic upliftment of the state. This new financial blueprint marks an 11.16% increase over the previous year's estimate.

The budget outlines a revenue receipt of Rs 34,544.07 crore and capital receipts of Rs 5,298.16 crore. Revenue expenditure has been pegged at Rs 29,963.33 crore, while capital expenditure, including loans, is expected to reach Rs 9,878.90 crore.

Highlighting the government’s dedication to fiscal discipline, Mein stated that the fiscal deficit of Rs 966.65 crore is within the permissible limit of 2.02% of the GSDP as per the Arunachal Pradesh FRBM Act, 2006. The budget is built on investment in people, infrastructure, economy, and innovation to realize a 'Viksit Arunachal.'
