In a dramatic incident in Maharashtra's Jalgaon district, a truck crashed into a level-crossing gate and became stuck on railway tracks before being struck by an express train on Friday morning. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the accident near Bodwad station, which occurred around 4.30 am.
The driver lost control when the 12111 Amravati Express was about to pass, resulting in the truck breaking the barrier at the rail-road intersection. The alert train's loco pilot managed to slow down, averting a major disaster, as officials from various agencies rushed to the scene.
Efforts to clear the track involved using a gas cutter and earthmover, with services resuming by 10.20 am. An investigation is underway as authorities registered a case regarding the incident.
