A tragic incident unfolded near Patrighat village in Mandi on Tuesday morning when a private bus fell into a gorge, resulting in one death and injuries to 18 others, according to officials.
The bus was traveling from Jahu to Mandi when the driver lost control on a treacherous stretch of road, causing the vehicle to plummet 200 feet into the gorge, initial reports indicate.
Rajvir, from Mandi, was pronounced dead at the scene. The seriously injured have been referred to Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College at Nerchowk, while others received treatment at a community health center in Rewalsar. Efforts by locals and officials to rescue trapped passengers were complicated by rain.
